What is UN approved packaging?
UN approved packaging has been designed and tested, and certified as per United Nations standards to safely transport dangerous/hazardous goods by air, sea, rail, or road. That is to prevent leaks, damage, or exposure of hazardous materials during transit and protect people, property, animals, and the environment. It's a legal requirement when shipping dangerous goods.
What kind of goods need UN approved packaging?
UN approved packaging is required for shipments classified as "Dangerous Goods" under UN regulations and listed in IATA DGR manual. This includes: chemicals, lithium batteries, medical or infectious substances, pesticides, asbestos, pharmaceuticals, and other hazardous materials.
How do you know it's UN approved?
It will have a UN specification mark printed on it.
Can I use these UN approved packaging for international shipments?
